Defense forces liberated the village of Novokhatske in the Donetsk region

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have fully regained control of the village of Novokhatske, Volnovakha district, Donetsk region.

This was reported by the 37th Separate Marine Brigade.

According to the military, the settlement was completely cleared of Russian occupiers as a result of a joint operation by fighters of the 37th Separate Marine Brigade and the 79th Separate Tavria Assault Brigade.

“Step by step, despite enemy resistance and dense mining, the marines and paratroopers accomplished the task. The enemy was knocked out of their positions, suffered losses and retreated,” the brigade emphasized.

It is noted that on the map of the DeepState analytical project, as of July 6, Novokhatske was in the so-called gray zone. Since then, the project’s maps have not been updated.

Novokhatske is located near the administrative border with Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, near the village of Filiya. According to the 2014 census, the village had a population of 143 people.

According to media reports, an offensive operation under the command of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been underway in the southern direction since the beginning of May, in which the 80th, 79th, and 95th separate airborne assault brigades are participating.
