Defense forces repelled 130 assaults by the Russian army in a day, with the largest number of battles in the Hulyaipil direction

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information as of 8 a.m. on February 23, 2026 regarding the Russian invasion.

In total, 130 combat clashes were recorded over the past 24 hours. Over the past 24 hours, missile troops and artillery of the Defense Forces hit five areas of concentration of personnel, four UAV control points, an artillery system, a communications node, an air defense system, and one other important target of the Russian invaders.

According to updated information, yesterday the invaders launched two missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine, using 51 missiles, 95 air strikes, and dropping 244 guided aerial bombs. In addition, they used 8,990 kamikaze drones to strike and carried out 3,331 attacks on the positions of our troops and settlements, including 78 from multiple launch rocket systems.

The aggressor carried out air strikes with guided bombs on settlements, in particular Pokrovske, Prosyana, Rivne in the Dnipropetrovsk region; Rizdvyanka, Kopany, Dolynka, Tersyanka, Zirnytsia, Vozdvizhivka, Hulyaipilske, Charivne, Novomykolaivka, Samiylivka, Lyubitske, Tavriyske, Komyshuvakha, Veselyanka, Zelene, Rozivka, Barvinivka, Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhia region.

In the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions over the past day, our defenders repelled one enemy attack. The enemy launched five air strikes, dropping 12 guided bombs, and carried out 83 shelling of our troops’ positions and settlements, nine of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the South Slobozhansky direction, the enemy once stormed the positions of our units in the Dvorichansky area.

Yesterday, one attack by the invaders took place in the Kupyansk direction. The defense forces repelled the enemy’s assault actions towards Hlushkivka.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked six times, trying to advance in the Drobyshevye area and towards Novosergiyevka, Oleksandrivka, and Stavki.

In the Slavyansk direction, our defenders repelled six attempts by the occupiers to advance, in the areas of Platonovka, Riznykovka, and Zakitne.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the Russians once tried to advance on the positions of our troops, in the Vasyukivka area.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 15 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka and towards Illinivka, Kostyantynivka, and Stepanivka.

In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 26 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor in the areas of the settlements of Rodynske, Pokrovsk, Udachne, Filiya and towards the settlements of Bilytske, Hryshyne, Novopidhorodne.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked our positions six times, in the areas of the settlements of Stepove, Kalynivske, Ternove, and towards Novy Zaporizhzhia.

In the Hulyaipil direction, the enemy tried to advance on the positions of our defenders 27 times, in the areas of Hulyaipil and towards Zeleny, Zaliznychny, Hulyaipilske, and Olenokostyantynivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders repelled two attacks, in the Primorsky and Stepovy areas.

No enemy offensive actions were recorded in the Dnieper direction.

No signs of the formation of offensive groups of the aggressor were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.

Our soldiers inflict significant losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces and actively undermine the enemy’s offensive potential in the rear.

By the way, last day the losses of the Russian invaders amounted to 720 people . Ukrainian soldiers also neutralized two tanks, 13 armored combat vehicles, 40 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, one air defense system, 33 missiles, 1,765 unmanned aerial vehicles of the operational-tactical level, and 136 units of automotive equipment of the invaders.
