Defense forces repelled 159 attacks: where the fiercest fighting took place

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information as of 8 a.m. on January 13, 2026 regarding the Russian invasion.

Over the past 24 hours, 159 combat clashes were recorded on the front. Russian troops launched one missile and 43 air strikes, used two missiles and dropped 105 guided bombs. The occupiers also used 7,919 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,587 attacks on Ukrainian troops’ positions and settlements, including 94 from multiple rocket launchers.

Air strikes hit the areas of Verkhnia Tersa, Barvinivka, Lyubitske, Vozdvizhivka, and Zaliznychne settlements in Zaporizhia region.

Over the past day, the Defense Forces’ aviation has struck ten areas of concentration of enemy personnel and two command posts.

In the North Slobozhansk and Kursk directions, the enemy carried out one air strike, dropped one aerial bomb, and carried out 101 shelling attacks, including seven from multiple launch rocket systems.

In the South Slobozhansk direction, Ukrainian troops stopped six attacks in the areas of Kruhly, Ternova, Obukhivka, Degtyarne, and in the direction of Prylipka and Grafske.

There were six attacks in the Kupyansk direction. Defense forces repelled assaults in the Borivska Andriivka area and in the direction of Petropavlivka and Kurylivka.

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked 16 times, trying to break through the defenses in the direction of Novoselivka, Ridkodub, Zarichny, Yampol and near Lyman, Stavki, and Drobyshevy.

In the Slavyansk direction, the Ukrainian military repelled six attacks in the areas of Svyato-Pokrovsky, Platonovka, Pazeny, and in the direction of Zakytne and Riznykovka.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive operations in the Kramatorsk direction.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, 19 attacks were recorded in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Oleksandro-Shultyny, Pleshchiivka, Shcherbynivka, Ivanopillya, Rusyny Yar, and in the direction of Stepanivka and Sofiivka.

In the Pokrovskoye direction, the Defense Forces stopped 26 assault actions in the areas of Myrnograd, Pokrovskoye, Zapovednye, Rodynskyi, Kotlynye, Udachnye, Molodetskyi, Filia and in the direction of Kucherovoye Yar.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy carried out 13 attacks in the areas of Zlagoda, Verbovye, and in the direction of Novy Zaporizhzhia.

In the Hulyaipil direction, the Ukrainian military repelled 34 attacks in the Hulyaipil area and in the direction of Olenokostyantynivka and Varvarivka.

In the Orikhiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled one attack in the Primorske area.

In the Dnieper direction, Ukrainian units repelled one enemy attack in the direction of the Antoniv Bridge.

No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.

Recall that over the past 24 hours, Russian troops suffered 950 casualties. Ukrainian soldiers also destroyed three tanks, seven armored combat vehicles, 51 artillery systems, two multiple launch rocket systems, 933 operational-tactical drones, and 145 vehicles.
