Defense forces repelled 235 attacks by the invaders on 11 front lines in 24 hours

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published operational information as of 8 a.m. on August 17 regarding the Russian invasion.

In total , 236 combat clashes were recorded over the past 24 hours. Over the past 24 hours, the Defense Forces’ aviation, missile forces, and artillery struck 12 areas of enemy manpower concentration.

Yesterday, the enemy carried out one missile strike using 12 missiles and 82 air strikes, during which it dropped 255 guided bombs. In addition, the invaders used 11,783 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,309 attacks on settlements and positions of our troops.

The settlements of Korenyok, Ulanov, Bunyakyne and Seredyna-Buda in the Sumy region were subjected to enemy artillery fire. In addition, in the Sumy region, the areas of the settlements of Velyka Chernechchyna, Stepanivka and Ulanov were subjected to air strikes.

In the North-Slobozhansk and Kursk directions over the past day, our defenders stopped one enemy assault. At the same time, the aggressor carried out two air strikes using six guided bombs and carried out 44 shelling of the positions of our troops and settlements, including two using multiple launch rocket systems.

In the South Slobozhansk direction, Ukrainian units repelled 17 enemy attacks. The invaders tried to advance in the areas of Lyman, Kozacha Lopan and Izbitsky, as well as in the Okhrimivka, Kruhly and Dvorichansky directions.

In the Kupyansk direction, three attacks by the occupiers were recorded in the areas of Kupyansk and Kurylivka, as well as in the direction of Novoplatonivka.

Attempts to penetrate our defenses were repulsed in the Lyman direction, where the occupiers attacked eight times in the Lyman and Dibrova areas, as well as in the Karpivka, Ridkodub, Novoselivka, and Drobysheve directions.

In the Slavyansk direction, the enemy carried out 20 assault operations in the areas of Kryva Luka, Zakitne, and Riznykovka, as well as in the Rai-Oleksandrivka and Mykolaivka directions.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the occupiers attacked three times in the directions of the settlements of Yurkivka and Dibrov.

26 attacks were recorded in the Kostyantynivka direction. The invaders carried out assault operations in the areas of Kostyantynivka, Illinivka, and Ivano-Pillya, as well as in the directions of Rusyn Yar, Novoselivka, and Stepanivka.

The largest number of assaults was recorded in the Pokrovsky direction, where our defenders stopped 33 attacks. The enemy was active in the areas of Bilytsky and Sergiivka, and also carried out assaults in the directions of Svitly, Kucherovy Yar, Novy Donbas, Shevchenko, Novogrishyn, Myrny, Udachny, Molodetsky, Novopidhorodny, and Novopavlivka.

In the Oleksandrivka direction, the invaders carried out one attack in the direction of the settlement of Yegorivka.

In the Hulyaipil direction, the invaders attacked 19 times. The enemy tried to advance in the areas of Hirky, Zaliznychny, and Hulyaipil, as well as in the directions of Charivny, Rivny, Rizdvyanka, and Kopany.

In the Orikhiv direction, our defenders stopped one enemy attempt to advance towards Novoyakovlivka.

The enemy did not conduct any assault operations in the Dnieper direction over the past day.

No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected in the Volyn and Polissya directions.

By the way, last day the losses of the Russian invaders amounted to 1440 people . Also neutralized were two tanks, four armored combat vehicles, 93 artillery systems, three multiple launch rocket systems, two air defense systems, three missiles, 16 ground robotic complexes, 2093 unmanned aerial vehicles, 597 units of automobiles and five units of special enemy equipment.
