Defense forces repelled Russians from five villages in Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia region

Units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces have had some successes on the front line in the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions.

Ukrainian military managed to push back Russian occupiers from a number of settlements in the Oleksandrivka direction. In particular, these are the villages of Zlagoda, Novohrygorivka, Novomykolaivka, Stepove, and Ternove.

There, the Defense Forces reduced the “gray zone” and also deoccupied an area of about 41 square kilometers.

It is worth noting that as of March 2 , the Airborne Assault Forces fighters had liberated nine settlements in the Oleksandrivka direction.

Currently, three villages in the area of the DShV group have been completely cleared, and work is still underway to liberate several more settlements.

We remind you that the Defense Forces are effectively conducting search and strike and counterstrike operations , as well as stabilizing the situation in the southern sections of the front.

Earlier, Syrskyi stated that during February 2026, Ukrainian troops managed to regain control of more territories than the enemy occupied . Such statistics were recorded for the first time since the Kursk operation.
