Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out targeted strikes on strategic targets in Russia and the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk Oblast.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this.
According to the General Staff, the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery in Russia’s Samara Region was hit. Its annual processing capacity is 8.8 million tons, and the plant produces over 20 types of products. The refinery is a key producer of high-grade jet fuel and is involved in supplying the Russian army.
Explosions and a fire were recorded in the target area; the extent of the damage is being determined.
In addition, the Defense Forces struck a drone storage base belonging to the Rubicon unit and a fuel and lubricants pumping station in the occupied part of Donbas.
The General Staff also released updated data on the preliminary strike on the Ryazan Oil Refinery: the ELOU-AVT-4 and ELOU-AVT-6 primary oil refining units, an oil product storage tank, and a pipeline overpass were damaged.
It was previously reported that Russia had begun recruiting reservists to protect oil refineries and other critical facilities from drone attacks.
As a reminder, on the night of November 5, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a base for storing, assembling, and launching Shahed-type UAVs in temporarily occupied Donetsk , as well as the Volgograd Oil Refinery.
