In the temporarily occupied Oleshki, Kherson region, demining of routes planned to deliver humanitarian aid and organize the departure of civilians is ongoing. The regime of silence introduced on October 27 continues to operate, and the parties are adhering to the agreements.
This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets.
According to him, Ukraine, together with the Russian side, continues to prepare a humanitarian mission to assist the residents of Oleshki.
The work is being mediated and coordinated by US First Lady Melania Trump. As Lubinets noted, her efforts helped the parties reach agreements and begin their practical implementation.
Specialists are currently clearing the routes that will deliver humanitarian cargo to the city. After that, they plan to provide the opportunity for local residents who want to leave Oleshki.
The Ombudsman clarified that the agreements were reached by the negotiating groups headed by him and the representative of the Russian side, Yana Lantratova.
According to Lubinets, the main task of the mission is to provide assistance to the civilian population and create conditions for the safe departure of people.
“We continue our work, putting the lives and safety of civilians first,” the ombudsman emphasized.
Recall that Ukraine and Russia are to agree on the regular supply of humanitarian aid to residents of the Kherson region . This includes the delivery of food, medicine, and the holding of events to return people at least once a month.
