Democrats ahead of Republicans ahead of US congressional elections: poll

Half of American voters are ready to support the Democratic Party in the midterm elections to the US Congress, while 40% plan to vote for the Republicans.

This is evidenced by the results of the Emerson College Polling survey.

Another 10% of respondents have not yet decided on their choice.

Democrats receive the greatest support among women, where 55% of those surveyed support them, as well as among Latino voters – 61%.

In addition, a significant portion of independent voters also lean toward supporting the Democratic Party.

At the same time, only 40% of Americans approve of the work of US President Donald Trump. More than half of those surveyed negatively assess his decisions in the areas of the economy, immigration, and foreign policy.

In particular, 53% of respondents consider US military actions in Iran to be unsuccessful.

The midterm elections for Congress will be held on November 3. During the vote, Americans will re-elect the entire House of Representatives and part of the Senate.

Both houses of Congress are currently under the control of the Republican Party. Experts note that during midterm elections, the party of the incumbent president traditionally loses some support, which could create additional problems for Republicans.
