Deputies of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council appealed to the state leadership with a demand to ban abortions in Ukraine.

This is stated in the address adopted during the plenary session.

The deputies noted that during the years of independence, many abortions were performed in Ukraine, which became “extraordinarily widespread.” As noted, the process has irreversible consequences on the physical, mental, and spiritual levels for the Ukrainian population.

“Human life begins from the moment of the fusion of paternal and maternal germ cells. A state that allows its destruction during the period of intrauterine development legalizes homicide and identifies itself with moral evil,” the appeal states.

Frankivsk deputies emphasize that the state authorities of Ukraine must fulfill the requirements of the “Declaration on the Protection of the Child” and the “Convention on the Rights of the Child”, which state that a child needs social protection and care, including proper “legal protection, both before and after birth.”

Also among the demands are the restoration of the Ministry of Family, the introduction of courses in preparation for creating families into educational programs, the enshrining of the protection of unborn children at the legislative level, and the creation of conditions that would encourage families to have many children.

“Unfortunately, a real demographic catastrophe has come to Ukraine! If children are not born, it means there are no students in schools, students in universities, workers in enterprises, soldiers in the army, fathers and mothers, builders of Ukraine. For this reason, we are observing the closure of schools, hospitals, and enterprises, because we lack children and people in various spheres of life, without whom Ukraine could disappear,” the deputies assured.

Instead, they propose to increase payments upon the birth of a child: first child – 100 thousand UAH; second child – 200 thousand UAH; third and each subsequent child – 300 thousand UAH.

“We also propose to introduce a program in Ukraine of mandatory free provision of housing by the state to families with five or more children,” the deputies added.

Recall that earlier the US Supreme Court abolished the right to abortion , which gives states the freedom to sharply restrict abortions or even outlaw them.
