Denmark to provide Ukraine with new $275 million military aid package

Denmark will provide Ukraine with an extraordinary, 31st package of military aid worth about $275 million. The funds will be used to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense capabilities in the autumn-winter period.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.

Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevheniy Khmara thanked his Danish counterpart Jeppe Bruus for implementing the agreements reached during a telephone conversation earlier this week.

The Ministry of Defense noted that since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Denmark has remained among the states providing military assistance to Ukraine and is developing new formats of cooperation.

The department also thanked the government and parliament of Denmark for their support for Ukraine.

It is worth adding that the total amount of funding for the previous 30 aid packages amounts to almost 76.8 billion Danish kroner (approximately 10.3 billion euros). The allocated funds were directed to the supply of weapons, ammunition, equipment, as well as to direct financing of the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex under the unique “Danish monetary model.”

As a reminder, the US State Department has approved the possible sale to Ukraine of equipment for the development and modernization of air defense for a total amount of about $2.68 billion.
