Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Tehran would rebuild all destroyed nuclear facilities with greater force, while insisting that the country’s nuclear program is exclusively civilian.

This is reported by Reuters .

During his visit to the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, the head of state met with nuclear industry leaders and discussed the further development of the industry.

“The destruction of buildings and factories will not create problems for us, we will rebuild them with greater force,” Pezeshkian said.

The president stressed that Iran’s nuclear program is aimed at solving humanitarian problems. “All this is intended to solve people’s problems, to treat diseases, to improve health,” he noted.

It is worth recalling that in 2015, Iran and six world powers signed an agreement to limit its nuclear program in exchange for the lifting of sanctions. However, in 2018, then-US President Donald Trump announced Washington’s withdrawal from the agreement and resumed the policy of “maximum pressure” on Tehran.

After that, Iran gradually resumed uranium production, and negotiations on a new agreement, which were ongoing during the presidency of Joe Biden, were suspended at the end of 2022.

In September of this year, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council announced the termination of cooperation with the IAEA following decisions by the United Kingdom, France, and Germany regarding Tehran’s nuclear program.

Earlier, Donald Trump said that he would order new strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities if Tehran tried to restore the destroyed infrastructure.

It is worth noting that Iran has officially announced the suspension of the country’s cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA – ed.) .

As reported, US strikes on three major uranium enrichment sites in Iran failed to destroy key elements of Iran’s nuclear program . However, the strikes did delay the program’s development by about several months.

Previously, the United States Air Force attacked Iran’s nuclear infrastructure , including the most protected facility in Fordow.
