Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced talks with Middle Eastern countries on diesel supplies amid the risk of fuel shortages. Ukraine is offering security assistance in exchange for energy resources.

According to the head of state, Ukraine provides partners with expertise in the field of infrastructure and population protection, while at the same time resolving the issue of providing diesel fuel.

“Ukraine provides accurate expertise to countries to protect infrastructure and people. In turn, I have a question regarding the shortage of diesel. I understand the task for Ukraine’s security. I believe that I am solving this issue,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The President noted that the government and Naftogaz of Ukraine have identified a key need for energy security, which is diesel.

He also emphasized that Ukraine may have a fuel shortage, which could reach 90%, specifically diesel.

As part of his trip to the Middle East, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is in the United Arab Emirates on March 28, where he met with the country’s President Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The day before, on March 27, the head of state visited Saudi Arabia, where he met with Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman Al Saud.

During this meeting, the parties signed an agreement on defense cooperation between the ministries of defense of the two countries.

In addition, in the United Arab Emirates, the president met with Ukrainian experts who have been working for several weeks to help protect against drone attacks.

Recall that in Ukraine, on March 27, in the afternoon, gas stations recorded a sharp increase in fuel prices . The cost of diesel fuel exceeded 90 hryvnias, setting a new record.
