The Russian occupation authorities plan to oblige residents of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine to install the Max messenger from VK, which is controlled by the Kremlin and the FSB.
This is reported by the Center for National Resistance.
The use of this service will become mandatory from September 1. All user data will be stored in Russia and transferred to special services without a court order. Correspondence will be stored for six months. Mandatory identification is also provided.
The Resistance Center notes that the messenger has access to the user’s microphone, camera, geolocation, and contacts, and due to the closed code, there is a risk of hidden backdoors – channels for unauthorized access.
The application is integrated with Russian state platforms, in particular “Gosuslugami”, which strengthens control over users in the occupied territories.
“Max is not a messenger, but a pocket spy of the Kremlin. Do not install it. Do not transfer personal data. Record the facts of pressure,” the Center of National Resistance urges.
We remind you thatthe Russians are conducting raids on the civilian population in the temporarily occupied territories of the Kherson region . They are looking for Ukrainian symbols that they did not have time to dismantle in order to destroy them.
As reported, mass asset confiscations are being recorded in Russia due to the worsening prospects of an economic slowdown.
