“Diplomatic resources are exhausted”: Merz announced a new stage of support for Ukraine

Friedrich Merz, the head of the German government, said that diplomatic resources for resolving the war unleashed by Russia against Ukraine have now been exhausted.

He stated this during parliamentary hearings in the Bundestag.

“The situation is rapidly escalating. We need to make bold decisions, and we will not stop supporting Ukraine — even despite pressure from pro-Russian forces within the walls of parliament,” Merz said, addressing the deputies.

The Chancellor spoke sharply about the Kremlin’s position, emphasizing that when a dictatorship questions the right of another nation to exist and tries to destroy democracy on the continent by force, there is nothing more to talk about.

“Diplomacy is already powerless here. And we will do everything possible to stop this aggression,” Merz emphasized.

Recall, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that some American lawmakers do not realize the scale of Russia’s rearmament campaign.

As reported, Merz stressed that EU sanctions alone are not enough to effectively pressure the Russian economy. That is why he called on the US to immediately join the new restrictions and strengthen the economic blockade of Russia.
