Does Russia plan to cease fire by the end of the year: GUR’s response

Russia is currently showing no signs of readiness to cease fire and move on to full-fledged peace talks. The GUR believes that Moscow continues to count on achieving its goals on the battlefield.
This was stated by Vadym Skibitsky, Deputy Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, inan interview with RBC-Ukraine.
According to him, the analysis of the situation on the front does not indicate Russia’s intentions to cease hostilities. According to Ukrainian intelligence, Russian plans do not envisage reaching agreements or signing a peace agreement by the end of 2026.
Skibitsky noted that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin seeks to achieve the goals he has set, including, first of all, the capture of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
“Their general staff plans to complete the capture of the Donetsk region by the end of this year,” said a representative of the GUR.
Regarding the upcoming winter, the GUR predicts that Russian troops will continue to attack defense industry facilities, military and energy infrastructure, logistics facilities, gas stations, as well as civilian infrastructure.
At the same time, it was previously reported that Russia has suspended the serial production and use of Kh-32 aircraft missiles, and also reduced the production of Kinzhal missiles , directing some of its resources to the production of other types of missiles.
