Don’t write about “missiles not shot down”: the Air Force urged not to escalate the situation over ballistics

Yuriy Ignat, head of the communications department of the Ukrainian Air Force, called on Ukrainian media and Telegram channels not to focus on the number of ballistic missiles that were not shot down. He emphasized that such messages could be used by Russian propagandists.

He spoke about this on the national telethon.

Ignat appealed to Ukrainian journalists and administrators of Telegram channels with a request to present information about the consequences of Russian attacks in a balanced manner.

“If you think it will make it easier for someone if we inflate headlines like this,” he said.

According to Ignat, Russian propagandists are reprinting Ukrainian media reports that not a single missile was shot down during the attacks.

“We do all the work for Skabeeva, for Solovyov, and so on. Therefore, I would ask again, it will not make it easier for anyone that we write about this,” the Air Force representative noted.

He added that Ukraine currently has problems with countering ballistic missiles and expects partners to supply air defense systems.

“Therefore, inciting and playing into the hands of the Russians is not good,” Ignat concluded.

It was previously reported that Russia intends to significantly increase the number of ballistic missiles that it can simultaneously launch at Ukraine during a single massive air strike. This would increase the potential salvo almost threefold — from the current 77 to 200 missiles.

Recall that Russia continues to increase the production of missile weapons and strike drones and is preparing to maintain the intensity of attacks on Ukraine . According to the deputy head of the GUR of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Vadim Skibitsky, the Russian Federation may reduce the number of missiles it uses per target, but a pause in the shelling is unlikely.
