Dovzhenko Film Studio Suffers Russian Attack for the Third Time in a Year
The Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studio was damaged for the third time as a result of a Russian attack.
This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine.
Debris from a Russian missile fell onto the film studio grounds and pierced the roofs of the sixth and seventh film pavilions .
After the debris fell, a fire broke out, which rescuers have already extinguished. No people were injured in the incident.
Experts are currently examining the damaged buildings and determining the extent of the damage.
This is the third time that the Dovzhenko Film Studio has been damaged by Russian strikes. The previous attacks occurred on June 2 and 15. Then, 18 buildings, utility networks, and cultural heritage sites on the studio’s territory were damaged.
The film studio suffered its greatest losses on June 15, when a Russian strike destroyed Ukraine’s largest and oldest costume collection . The funds contained about 100,000 costumes and millions of pieces of clothing used during the filming of Ukrainian films.
In addition, the main filming pavilion, administrative and laboratory buildings, the film factory museum, film library, power plant, and other structures were damaged during that attack.
As a reminder, on the night of October 7 , Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles . The consequences of the strikes were recorded in several areas of the capital, and there were casualties.
Also during the night attack, Russia used missiles of various types and 130 drones. Air defense forces neutralized 161 air targets .
