Drapatiy appointed Ishkulov and Skred as commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces corps: details

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have made new personnel appointments in important areas of Donbas. Colonel Emil Ishkulov has been appointed head of the 11th Army Corps, and Valeriy Skred has become commander of the 19th Corps.

This is reported by journalist Yuri Butusov.

According to Butusov, Ishkulov was appointed commander of the 11th Army Corps after about a month of discussions. The journalist called this one of the first encouraging steps towards stabilizing the situation in the area of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.

“The first encouraging steps to stabilize the situation in Slavyansk and Kramatorsk – Colonel Emil Ishkulov was appointed commander of the 11th Army Corps today. I think I wish him strength and good luck,” Butusov wrote.

At the same time, Valeriy Skred was appointed commander of the 19th Army Corps. Prior to that, he had been acting as commander for about a month.

Previously, Skred commanded the 46th Separate Airmobile Brigade of the Ukrainian Airborne Forces, which participated in the defense of Soledar.

According to Kiriyenko, during the heavy fighting for the city, Skred was with his soldiers in the basement of the Artemsil plant surrounded by Russians, and later left the encirclement with the fighters.

Currently, the 19th Corps holds the Kramatorsk-Kostyantynovka-Druzhkivka direction. Kiriyenko noted that the area of these cities and Sloviansk could become one of the key directions of the battle for Donbas in the fall.

At the same time, Butusov reported that the military leadership continues to discuss the candidate for the commander of the Joint Forces Group. According to him, the military expects a decision that will correspond to the difficult situation at the front.

The new appointments come amid personnel changes following the arrival of Mykhailo Drapaty as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Radio technology and communications expert Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov noted that Drapatiy is now appointing competent leaders to technical areas . According to him, the new commanders are energetic, modern, and sociable.
