Drapatiy honored the memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatiy honored the memory of servicemen who gave their lives defending Ukraine.

He announced this on his Facebook page.

Drapatiy recalled that today Ukrainians remember all those who gave their lives for Ukraine: those who died in Ilovaisk, those who fell in battle since 2014, and those the country lost during the years of full-scale war.

“Every name represents a person. A family. Brothers, sisters. A life cut short by Russian aggression. I know the price of this war. I see it in the ranks, where the place of a fallen comrade remains forever. In the units that continue the fight after heavy losses. In the families who will never see their loved ones home again,” Drapatiy noted.

He also stressed that Ukrainians must remember every fallen defender.

“Remember Ilovaisk and what Russia’s word is worth. Remember the cost of mistakes, trust in the enemy, and lost vigilance. But above all, remember the people. Those who stood up to defend their country and gave their highest sacrifice for it.

Our duty is to live up to their legacy. To continue the fight. To defend Ukraine. And not to allow the memory of the fallen to become just a date on the calendar.

Vincit qui meminit. He who remembers wins.
