The SBU detained a Russian agent who was preparing a breakthrough by an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group in the Sumy region.
This was reported by the press service of the Security Service.
The SBU has identified a Russian agent who worked as a nurse in the Sumy region. She was recruited via Telegram.
The agent’s main task was to scout the border areas of the Sumy region and establish the coordinates of the location of checkpoints and SOU strongholds.
“The Russians planned to use the data collected by the suspect to prepare for breakthroughs of the front line. There were attempts to identify “weak spots” and “blind spots” of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in order to enter their rear and gain a foothold in new positions before the main forces of the Russian army approach,” the SBU noted.
To conduct reconnaissance, the Russian agent set up a mini-camera on a bicycle, on which she traveled around the area.
She sent the collected data in the form of photos and videos with marks of objects on the map to the curator via messenger.
“The SBU exposed the figurehead in advance and documented every step of her cooperation with the enemy, and also carried out comprehensive measures to secure Defense Forces locations in this area. At the final stage of the special operation, the enemy accomplice was detained – at the moment when she was removing the border bridge for the passage of Russian DRGs,” the SBU press service reported.
Russian agents are charged with high treason committed under martial law. She faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
As a reminder, in the ranks of the Defense Forces , the Security Service exposed a serviceman who worked for Russian special services and shared information about fellow soldiers with the enemy.
As reported, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed and detained an FSB agent who served in the National Guard assault brigade. The operation took place in Kharkiv with the assistance of the Minister of Internal Affairs and the NGU command.
