Drone attack in Tuapse: A tanker and oil terminal caught fire in a port in Krasnodar Krai.
On the night of Sunday, November 2, drones attacked the city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar region of Russia, causing a fire at an oil terminal and a tanker in the port.
The Krasnodar Territory operational headquarters reported this.
“In the port of Tuapse, fragments from drones fell on an oil tanker. The deck superstructure was damaged. The tanker’s crew was evacuated. A fire broke out on the vessel. Terminal buildings and infrastructure were also damaged,” the headquarters said in a statement.
According to the Russian side, drone debris also damaged an apartment building in the village of Sosnovy in the Tuapse district.
The Astra Telegram channel reports that the fire occurred at the deep-water berthing complex of RN-Morskoy Terminal Tuapse, which is used for loading oil products onto tankers.
“Eyewitness footage shows at least three fires. Two of them are at the deep-water berthing complex of RN-Marine Terminal Tuapse LLC, and another is at the oil loading terminal near the Southern Mole,” noted the OSINT analyst from Astra.
Russian sources have not yet reported any casualties or injuries, but the extent of the damage indicates a significant fire at a strategic fuel infrastructure facility.
As a reminder, on the night of October 22 , the Defense Forces attacked a number of strategic facilities in Russian regions, specifically, the Saransk Mechanical Plant and the Makhachkala Oil Refinery.
As reported, on Sunday, October 19, the Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery, located in the Samara region, halted operations as a result of an attack by Ukrainian drones.
