On the night of August 20, an explosion occurred in a field in the village of Osyny, in the Lublin Voivodeship of Poland. The incident occurred around 2:20–2:30 a.m. near a cornfield in Łuków County.

This is reported by the newspaper “Rzeczpospolita”.

Police found charred metal and plastic fragments scattered for tens of meters at the scene. The explosion was quite powerful: it shattered windows in three neighboring houses. Fortunately, there were no injuries. Villagers reported a loud bang.

Preliminary military radar data indicates that the object did not cross Polish airspace from Ukraine or Belarus in the evening. At the same time, several versions are not excluded: it could be a Shahed drone – an Iranian model used by Russia, or a drone for smuggling, or even a sign of sabotage.

The Lublin voivode assured that no radiation threat was detected, and psychological support will be provided to those who survived the shock. The investigation is ongoing: police, military, counterintelligence and pyrotechnic units arrived at the scene. They are recording evidence and clarifying the origin of the object.

This is not the first time that debris from the war zone has flown into Poland. But this explosion occurred more than 100 km from the Ukrainian border — just 48 km from Warsaw.

As a reminder, on July 28, an unknown drone flew into the territory of Lithuania from Belarus.

As reported, a drone was found in Lithuania that flew into the country from Belarus on July 28. It was spotted at the Gaižiunai military training ground in the Jonau district.
