Drone financing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine: The Netherlands launches a new support package

The Dutch government will soon finance a new support package for Ukraine in the amount of 90 million euros to develop its own production of reconnaissance and strike drones.
This was stated by Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans before a meeting of the North Atlantic Council, reports “European Truth”.
Brekelmans emphasized that the Netherlands is currently providing support to Ukraine at an unprecedented level.
“A few days ago, I announced 200 million to counter UAVs. And today, another 90 million for drones, both reconnaissance and strike,” he noted.
According to him, Ukrainian industry has the potential to increase production, so investments are not made “for now”, but for long-term scaling.
The minister also added that this financing will be implemented both through bilateral agreements and within the framework of broader schemes, for example, involving frozen Russian assets.
“We must increase the costs for Putin: he must not be comfortable in this war. Stable support and long-term commitments are the key to victory,” Brekelmans emphasized.
We will remind, the Netherlands announced a new support package for Ukraine, signed a memorandum of understanding and the creation of a defense cluster in Kyiv.
As reported, on Friday, October 11,Ukraine and the Kingdom of the Netherlands officially agreed on the joint production of drones. The corresponding memorandum was signed during the visit to Kyiv of the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Ruben Brekelmans.
