North Korea plans to send 25,000 workers to Russia for a drone production plant located in the Alabuga special economic zone in Tatarstan.

This is reported by NHK .

It is noted that in exchange, the DPRK will receive access to drone control technologies and the opportunity to increase its own military capabilities.

According to journalists, the factory where the North Korean workers will arrive is connected to a large-scale expansion of the production of drones, which Russia is actively using in the war against Ukraine. Pyongyang, in turn, seeks to use this cooperation to strengthen its military potential.

The move is a continuation of the strategic partnership signed by Russia and North Korea in June last year. The document provides for the provision of military assistance in case of emergencies, as well as expanding defense cooperation.

After signing the agreement, North Korea has already sent military personnel to the territory of the Russian Federation. Now the DPRK has taken the next step – a massive export of labor, which will actually become part of the Kremlin’s military-industrial complex.

Journalists argue that such actions could provoke a sharp reaction from the West, as they violate UN Security Council resolutions that prohibit military cooperation with the Kim Jong-un regime.

It was previously reported that North Korea would send six thousand of its citizens to Russia , who would supposedly “restore” the Kursk region.

Recall that in 2024, Russia received 9 million artillery shells and ammunition from North Korea, as well as 11,000 military personnel to support the war against Ukraine.

As reported, while the international community is tightening sanctions against Russia, the Kremlin is finding new ways to circumvent isolation – through an alliance with one of the most totalitarian regimes in the world. North Korea is not only supplying Russia with missiles and soldiers for the war against Ukraine, but also sending massive numbers of labor migrants to Russia . This process is taking place despite UN sanctions and against the backdrop of a massive labor shortage in Russia.
