Ukraine will receive more than $70 million in additional military support from the governments of Australia and New Zealand. The funding is aimed at strengthening air defense, providing ammunition, and supporting international arms supply initiatives.

The decision of the allies was announced by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, Vasyl Miroshnychenko.

He said Australia is providing A$95 million (approximately US$63 million). The package includes:

$50 million – contribution to the PURL initiative, which coordinates arms purchases for Ukraine;

$2 million – support for the “drone coalition”;

$43 million – tactical air defense radars, ammunition, and engineering equipment.

Separately, the New Zealand government is providing NZ$15 million (about US$8.7 million) to strengthen the same PURL initiative, which provides the Ukrainian military with necessary defense equipment.

New contributions from both countries will be another step in long-term support for Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.

As a reminder, the Netherlands is preparing a new support package for Ukraine – the government will allocate another 250 million euros for the purchase of American weapons within the framework of the PURL initiative.

As reported, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte announced the volumes of American weapons that Ukraine will receive in 2025 and that are planned to be purchased in 2026. According to him, the deliveries are on schedule and should provide the Ukrainian army with a significant package of weapons.
