Drones, armored vehicles and ammunition: Canada announces military aid to Ukraine

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced new military aid that will arrive in Ukraine next month.
He stated this in Kyiv during celebrations marking Ukraine’s Independence Day, Suspilne reports .
According to Carney, over a billion Canadian dollars (over $700 million) of the removed funds will be used to strengthen Ukraine’s weapons arsenal.
“At the G7 summit in June, Canada pledged an additional $2 billion in military assistance. Today, I am proud to announce that more than $1 billion of that will go towards strengthening your weapons arsenal through the delivery of drones, ammunition and armored vehicles, which will arrive as early as next month,” the Prime Minister said.
In addition, he added that his country would provide tens of millions of dollars in funding for emergency medical care, shelter construction, as well as strengthening local democracy and countering cyberattacks.
“As co-chair of the international coalition for the return of Ukrainian children, Canada will strengthen cooperation with Ukraine, European partners, and the United States to ensure the immediate and unconditional return of the children,” he emphasized.
Earlier it became known that the Norwegian government announced the allocation of about 7 billion Norwegian kroner ($696 million) for the supply of Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems and modern radars to Ukraine.
