Drones attacked an instrument-making plant in the Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation, causing damage and injuries
On the night of August 11, drones attacked Arzamas and Dzerzhinsk in the Nizhny Novgorod region of Russia. The Arzamas Instrument-Making Plant was hit, killing one worker and injuring two others. Locals reported a series of powerful explosions and significant damage to the plant.

It is noted that a series of explosions were heard in the city of Arzamas, Nizhny Novgorod region of the Russian Federation, as a result of a drone attack. At about 03:55, residents heard three loud explosions and one particularly powerful one. Eyewitnesses claim that at least five drones flew over the city, moving at a low altitude, and the characteristic sound of their engines was heard near the northern outskirts of Arzamas.
According to local residents, the strikes were directed at the Arzamas Instrument-Making Plant named after P. I. Plandin, one of the key enterprises in the region that produces equipment for the aviation and space industries, as well as civilian products, including gyroscopic systems, on-board computing systems, and medical equipment.
Rosaviatsia temporarily activated the “Carpet” plan at Strigino airport due to the threat of new attacks. At 06:12, the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, confirmed that a local enterprise was damaged during the strike on the Arzamas district: one employee died on the spot, two injured were hospitalized.
It is additionally reported that explosions were also heard in the city of Dzerzhinsk in the same region in the morning. According to eyewitnesses, around 05:10 there were three to five explosions, which were also heard in the neighboring village of Petryaivka. Official sources have not yet provided details about this incident.
At the same time, the Russian Defense Ministry stated that it had shot down 32 drones overnight, but did not specify whether these included the drones that attacked the Nizhny Novgorod region.
Recall that on Sunday, August 10, a series of explosions were heard in the Russian Republic of Komi, probably a local oil refinery was under attack by drones.
