On the night of August 17, drones were shot down and intercepted over occupied Crimea and the waters of the Black and Azov Seas. At the same time, air alert was repeatedly declared in Crimea during the night.
This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
In occupied Crimea, the “unmanned danger” regime was in effect from 09:46 on August 16 to 02:46 on August 17. Almost immediately after its cancellation, an air alert was declared again — it lasted until 06:10. At 07:28, the alert signal sounded again.
An air raid alert was declared in Sevastopol from 11:00 PM to 11:22 PM on August 16. This was announced by the Russian-appointed “governor” of the city, Mikhail Razvozhaev.
Local residents also reported a loud explosion in the village of Nizhnegorsky near Simferopol.
In addition, at around 8:00 PM on August 16, a fire broke out on the territory of the Yevpatoria aircraft repair plant. According to local residents, the plant repairs military aircraft and has been hit before.
Traffic on the Crimean Bridge was also temporarily blocked at night. According to the occupation authorities, the restrictions were in effect for approximately 11 minutes — from 04:06 to 04:17. The reason was said to be the flight of drones over the bridge.
