Drones attacked Rostov region: fire broke out near airfield

Ukrainian drones attacked the Rostov region of the Russian Federation on the night of September 18. Local residents reported explosions and a fire was recorded near the airfield in Rostov-on-Don. At the same time, the drones were heading towards Moscow.
The attack was reported by monitoring channels Supernova+ and “Crimean Wind” , as well as representatives of the Russian authorities.
Rostov Region Governor Yuriy Slyusar said that drones were spotted over Rostov-on-Don, Taganrog, Bataysk, and several other areas of the region.
According to him, five private houses, cars and gas pipes were damaged in Azov. In the Neklinovsky district, the governor claims, the roofs and windows of eight apartment buildings were damaged. Damage was also recorded in Bataysk. Slyusar did not report on the possible targets of the attack.
At the same time, monitoring channels reported that the target of the attack could have been the air base in Rostov-on-Don. They also reported a fire near the airfield.
The attack came the night after a strike on Rostov-on-Don (Central) airfield. The previous day, Ukrainian drones had reportedly struck military transport planes and helicopters there.
Separately, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that more than 350 drones had been flying towards the Moscow region since the evening of September 17. According to him, most of them were destroyed on the far approaches, and another 64 were destroyed on the approach to the capital.
In particular, the Russian Ministry of Defense stated that it allegedly destroyed 629 drones over the territory of Russia and occupied Crimea overnight.
It was previously reported that on the night of Thursday, September 17, drones attacked several regions of Russia. In Rostov-on-Don, a fire likely broke out on the territory of a military airfield, and in Yaroslavl, the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery caught fire.
