On the night of November 14, two Russian cities — Novorossiysk and Saratov — were hit by unknown drones. Explosions and large fires were recorded in ports and industrial facilities, and local authorities confirm the destruction of infrastructure.
This is reported by Russian media.
The first reports appeared almost at midnight: publics in Novorossiysk wrote about a group of drones flying over the city and characteristic explosions. Soon, social networks began to be filled with footage of a large fire on the territory of the Sheskharis oil terminal, one of Transneft’s key export points, located near the port.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council, confirmed the strike, releasing a video of the moment of the explosion and subsequent fire.
Warning! The video contains foul language.
Later, analytical Telegram channels reported that a separate explosion could also have hit the position of the Russian S-300/400 anti-aircraft missile system, which, according to them, is located on the territory of the military unit of the 1537th anti-aircraft regiment.
As of 06:50, the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory admitted that the Sheskharis oil depot and a number of buildings on the coast were damaged as a result of the drone attack. In addition, a civilian vessel was damaged in the port, and three crew members were injured. Wreckage of drones was found in various areas of the city, and several residential buildings were damaged.
Around the same time, reports of a drone attack began to emerge from Saratov. Local Telegram channels reported the oil refinery had been hit, posting videos of a powerful flare and plumes of smoke rising above the facility.
Despite numerous testimonies, the regional governor Roman Busargin acknowledged only the “UAV threat” in his nightly reports, and in the morning he confirmed the fact of the attack, but limited himself to the wording of “damage to civilian infrastructure.” The data from the public media contradict the authorities’ statements — they claim that the refinery was the target of the strike and that it was there that the fire broke out.
In two cities, fires were quickly contained, but the extent of the damage is still being determined. Novorossiysk and Saratov are important logistics and industrial centers.
As a reminder, on the night of November 13, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out a series of pinpoint strikes on objects in the territory of the Russian Federation and in temporarily occupied territories with the aim of weakening the enemy’s military-economic and offensive capabilities.
As reported, on Thursday, November 13, a fire broke out at a local oil refinery in the city of Nizhnekamsk, Russia.
