A drone attack has been detected in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region. Local residents are reporting explosions and thick smoke.

According to preliminary information, the drones were spotted in the city of Kstovo, located approximately 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The likely targets of the attack were the local oil refinery or the Gorky oil pumping station.

The day before, it was also reported that Nizhny Novgorod Airport would temporarily close.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense reported strikes on a number of facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region, including an oil refinery, an oil depot, and a microelectronics manufacturing facility.
