On the night of August 27-28, a series of drone attacks on strategically important fuel infrastructure facilities took place in Russia. Two large oil refineries were hit – Afipsky in the Krasnodar Territory and Novokuybyshevsky in the Samara Region.

According to Russian media, serious fires broke out at both enterprises after the strikes.

In particular, the Novokuibyshevsk refinery in the Samara region, one of the key facilities in the Russian fuel industry, was attacked. Its annual processing capacity is 8.3 million tons of oil. The plant is owned by the state-controlled oil giant Rosneft.

It is known that this enterprise produces, among other things, fuel for combat aircraft, including Tu-22M3 supersonic bombers.

As a reminder, on the night of August 24 , units of the Main Intelligence Directorate, together with the Unmanned Systems Forces and other components of the Defense Forces, inflicted fire damage on an important Russian fuel and energy infrastructure facility in the Samara region.

As reported, units of the Defense Forces struck the Novoshakhtyn Oil Products Plant and a number of other important Russian facilities.
