On the night of August 6, drones attacked Yaroslavl, Russia. One of Russia’s largest oil refineries could have been hit.

This was reported by the Russian authorities and a number of Telegram channels.

Yaroslavl Oblast Governor Mikhail Yevraev said the region had been attacked by Ukrainian drones. Due to the threat of strikes, the city temporarily blocked traffic leaving Yaroslavl towards Moscow.

Local Telegram channels reported drones flying overhead, a series of explosions, and columns of smoke over the city. According to them, the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery could have been the target of the attack.

Later, Astra, citing its own OSINT analysis, reported that drones had struck the Slavneft-YANOS refinery in Yaroslavl. It is noted that this enterprise has been the target of attacks at least six times.

At the same time, the Moscow region has also been hit by drone attacks. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that Russian air defense forces allegedly shot down six drones heading towards the Russian capital.

It was previously reported that on the night of August 5, drones attacked the city of Oleksyn in the Tula region of Russia. The strike caused a large-scale fire on the territory of the Wildberries logistics center.
