Drones cover Russia: drones hit oil refinery, railway and military unit

On the night of Thursday, August 7, several regions of Russia were hit by drone attacks. Critical facilities were targeted, including railway infrastructure, an oil refinery, and military facilities.

This is reported by official Russian sources, as well as the Telegram channels Astra and Baza.

Volgograd region: explosions on the railway
In the Volgograd region, drones attacked at least two railway stations – Surovikino and Maksim Gorky. According to the governor of the region, Andrey Bocharov, the air defense system allegedly worked, and there were no casualties.

However, it was not possible to completely avoid damage. At the Surovikine station, a fire broke out in the administrative building, which, according to official information, was quickly extinguished. At another station, sappers are working to neutralize the wreckage of a destroyed drone.

Around 01:00, residents heard the drone of drones, followed by up to ten explosions. Videos from the scene, showing flames, are circulating on social media.

Krasnodar Territory: Fire engulfs oil refinery
Another epicenter of the attack was the Afipsky oil refinery in Krasnodar Krai. As a result of a drone strike, a large-scale fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise. This is not the first attack on this refinery – the facility is regularly targeted by drones due to its strategic importance.

The fact of the fire was confirmed by the regional governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, on his Telegram channel, as well as by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Slavyansk-na-Kuban: military unit under attack
That same night, drones attacked Slavyansk-na-Kuban, where one person was reportedly injured. The Astra Telegram channel, citing eyewitnesses, reported that military unit No. 61661 had caught fire. Official sources are silent about this or do not comment on the situation in detail.

The massive appearance of drones, explosions, and large-scale fires in several regions of the Russian Federation this night indicate an increase in attacks on the rear infrastructure. Logistics hubs, fuel resources, and military facilities — key elements of the Russian army’s support — have come under attack.

At the time of publication, the Russian authorities continue to “reassure” the population with reports of successful air defense operations, but confirmation in the form of fires and damaged facilities suggests otherwise.

As a reminder, on the night of August 6, Russian regions were subjected to another wave of drone attacks. Residents of Bryansk and several districts of Rostov Oblast reported massive strikes.

As reported, on the night of August 5, unknown drones attacked the Tatsinsk railway station, located in the Rostov region of Russia. As a result of the strike, a fire broke out at the facility.
