Drones hit one of the largest ammonia producers in Russia

On the afternoon of April 13, drones attacked the Russian chemical plant “Cherepovets-Azot” in the city of Cherepovets, Vologda Oblast.

This was reported by the OSINT channel “CyberBoroshno”.

As a result of several hits, a fire broke out at the enterprise, and thick black smoke rose into the sky.

Analysts noticed smoke above two of the three ammonia plants, with a combined capacity of 900,000 tons per year. In addition, there was probably a hit to the ammonia storage of these plants. The latter facility was additionally protected from UAVs by the Russians with a special metal structure.

At the same time, according to Vologda Oblast Governor Georgy Filimonov, a “drone danger” regime has been declared in the region. He added that 13 UAVs were allegedly shot down while approaching the Cherepovets industrial site.

“Emergency services specialists are working at the site of the debris fall,” the Russian official wrote.

It is worth noting that Cherepovets-Azot is one of the largest ammonia producers in Russia. The enterprise provides about 6% of ammonia production in the country.

Earlier, the General Staff confirmed the destruction of a Russian frigate, an oil terminal , and a number of other enemy military facilities.

As a reminder, the day before , the Defense Forces managed to hit the oil loading infrastructure of the Sheskharis oil terminal , located in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Territory.
