An explosion occurred at an oil refinery in the city of Novoshakhtinsk in the Rostov region overnight, apparently caused by a drone strike. In neighboring Voronezh region, a drone damaged an energy facility, knocking out power to several villages.

This is reported by Russian Telegram channels.

Local residents of Novoshakhtynsk say they heard explosions near the plant and have released photos and videos from the burning plant. There has been no official comment from Russian services yet — the circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

In the Voronezh region, according to the governor, several villages were left without electricity, and a number of passenger trains were also delayed. There were no initial reports of casualties. The entire region is in a zone of heightened danger due to the risk of repeated drone attacks.

As a reminder, on the night of August 19 , the Volgograd region of Russia was subjected to a large-scale drone attack . A series of explosions were heard on the outskirts of the regional center, and local residents reported a fire at an oil refinery and damage to a hospital.

As reported, on the night of August 18 , the Unmanned Systems Forces, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the Russian Nikolskoye oil pumping station in the Tambov region.
