Drones hit strategic defense enterprise in Rostov region

On the night of Friday, July 4, a large-scale drone attack was recorded in several regions of Russia. The attacks targeted settlements in the Rostov region, in particular the city of Azov, as well as the Sergiev Posad district near Moscow.

This is reported by Russian officials and local sources.

In Rostov Oblast, drones damaged residential and civil infrastructure. In Azov, the blast wave shattered windows in houses, damaged cars, and debris from one of the drones fell on a stadium. Even more serious consequences were recorded in the village of Dolotynka, where an elderly woman died as a result of the collapse of floor slabs in a multi-storey building. At least 20 residents were evacuated.

According to unconfirmed reports, the target of the strike could have been the Azov Optical-Mechanical Plant, an enterprise that manufactures components for missile weapons, including thermal imaging systems and guidance systems.

Meanwhile, in the Moscow region, in the Zirochka neighborhood, locals reported a series of loud explosions and the sound of drones in the air. Authorities confirmed damage to one of the substations.

There has been no official comment from Ukraine regarding this attack so far.

Recall that on the night of Thursday, July 3, drones attacked several regions of Russia at once . The loudest explosions were heard in the Lipetsk region – in particular in the cities of Lipetsk and Yelets. A military airfield is located in Lipetsk, and a battery production plant is located in Yelets.

As reported, on the morning of July 1 , an explosion occurred at the Kupol enterprise in Izhevsk, Russia, which manufactures anti-aircraft missile systems and drones for the Russian army . According to sources, this was the result of an attack by long-range drones of the Security Service of Ukraine.
