Drones in Taganrog burned down a unique A-60: one of the most secret aircraft of the Russian Federation was destroyed
On the night of November 24-25, a large-scale drone attack took place in the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation. Almost simultaneously, explosions erupted in several cities – Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Anapa, and Krasnodar. The most difficult situation was in Novorossiysk, where local residents heard alarm sirens and reports of an alleged chemical or radiation hazard for several hours.
Numerous monitoring resources reported on the event.
According to eyewitnesses, Novorossiysk was surrounded by the sounds of explosions and air defenses, and drones were circling in the sky. After prolonged alarm signals, the local administration stated that reports of a “chemical and radiation threat” were false. The reason was called an alleged “hacking of the warning system” by Ukrainian hackers.
Damage to residential buildings was recorded in the city. One 16-story building was damaged by debris from a downed drone – the structures at the top were knocked out. In another apartment building, debris caused a fire that destroyed several apartments. There is information about one injured resident.
Witnesses reported hearing drones and explosions in the Novorossiysk area until the morning. Similar impacts were also felt in other cities, including Anapa, Tuapse, Krasnodar, and Gelendzhik. Authorities warned people to stay away from windows and stay away from dangerous areas.
Another place of active strikes is Taganrog. On the night of November 25, a large series of explosions were heard there, which local sources attribute to the work of Russian air defense and an attack by Ukrainian drones. According to residents, immediately after the explosions, large pockets of fire broke out in the city.
An air alert was declared in the Rostov region, where Taganrog is located, recommending people to take shelter, close windows, and avoid open areas.
Eyewitness reports indicate that around 1 a.m., more than 20 powerful explosions were heard. The shock waves shook windows, and car alarms went off en masse. Thick smoke and flames were seen at the sites of debris.
Ukrainian OSINT channels wrote that the attack caused power outages in the city. Some analytical resources suggest that aviation fuel was burning at the local airfield or that the strike may have damaged an aircraft factory.
Local residents reported that one aircraft was destroyed in the fire.
The OSINT community notes that the strike could have been directed at the Taganrog airport (South). According to updated data, NASA satellite images record a fire on the territory of the Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex named after Beriev. Particular attention is paid to the fire in the area of the A-60 aircraft parking lot.
According to preliminary estimates, among the objects that could have been damaged by the strike was one of the most valuable and rarest aircraft in Russia – the experimental A-60 aviation complex with a laser system.
The A-60 is a unique Soviet-Russian program based on the Il-76MD transport aircraft. The aircraft served as a platform for research and testing of powerful aircraft lasers for various purposes.
It is known that only two experimental boards were built within the project:
the first prototype, known as “1A”, was built in the early 1980s for initial testing;
The second aircraft, “2A”, was equipped with an updated laser complex and a modernized equipment placement system.
Serial production of this type of aircraft was never launched – both aircraft remained experimental flight laboratories.
As a reminder, in the Russian city of Taganrog, as a result of two explosions, a 110 kV electrical substation caught fire . The city partially lost electricity and water.
As reported, special forces of the Security Service of Ukraine and the Security and Defense Forces struck the Novorossiysk port in Russia, which is the second largest oil export center. As a result of the attack , a number of infrastructure facilities were damaged and explosions were recorded at the positions of the anti-aircraft complex.
