Drones massively attacked occupied Crimea: explosions were heard in several cities

On the night of Thursday, July 16, a series of explosions were heard in temporarily occupied Crimea. Drones attacked Kerch, Simferopol, Bakhchisarai district and Feodosia. In the midst of the attack, the Russians temporarily blocked traffic on the Crimean Bridge.

Around midnight, the occupation authorities announced a temporary closure of traffic on the Crimean Bridge.

“Vehicle traffic on the Crimean Bridge has been temporarily closed,” the message said.

According to the OSINT channel “Crimean Wind”, explosions and drones were heard in Kerch. Russian mobile fire groups tried to shoot down drones in the area of Mount Mitridat.

At the same time, residents of Simferopol also reported explosions. According to analysts, loud sounds were heard, in particular, near the train station.

Later, explosions and shooting were heard in the Bakhchisarai district. OSINT analysts suggest that one of the possible targets could have been the Bakhchisarai electrical substation. However, there was no information about power outages.

Explosions also occurred in Feodosia. According to eyewitnesses, after 2 a.m., the drones continued to move towards Kerch.

As of the morning of July 16, the occupation authorities had not officially reported on the consequences of the attack. The Ukrainian side also did not comment on the night’s events.

As a reminder, on the night of Thursday, July 16, the Saratov region of Russia came under a massive drone attack . The cities of Engels and Saratov were under attack, in particular the Engels-2 military airfield and an electrical substation.
