Several flights bound for Brussels Airport were canceled or diverted after reports of possible drones near the airport.

According to the air traffic monitoring service Flightradar24, controllers received unconfirmed reports of possible drone activity in the approach area to the Belgian capital. As a result, part of the airspace around Brussels was temporarily restricted to flights.

These precautions led to significant delays and the diversion of several aircraft to other European airports. The exact circumstances of the incident are currently under investigation, and the source of the possible drones has not yet been confirmed.

Brussels International Airport, one of the country’s main transport hubs, assured that they are working with aviation security services to assess the risks and guarantee the safety of passengers and staff.

As a reminder, on November 5, Vilnius airport suspended operations due to the appearance of an unknown drone.

Vilnius Airport has reportedly temporarily suspended operations due to hot air balloon flights near the airport . This was the fourth time in a week that Lithuanian airspace has been closed due to such incidents.
