On the night of Tuesday, February 17, drones attacked several regions of the Russian Federation. In particular, powerful explosions thundered in the Krasnodar Territory. As a result of the attack, a large-scale fire broke out at the Ilya oil refinery.

According to reports from local residents, a series of explosions first occurred in the area of the village of Ilsky, and later a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise.

The Krasnodar Territory Operations Headquarters confirmed the UAV attack. However, as usual, it did not provide any details on which objects were damaged.

As of this morning, the Operations Headquarters acknowledged the damage to the oil tank.

“As a result of a UAV attack, a fire broke out at the Ilsky Refinery. There were no injuries. A tank with petroleum products was damaged. The total area of the fire is about 700 sq. m,” the report says.

It is noted that 72 people and 21 pieces of equipment, as well as a fire train, were involved in extinguishing the fire.

The Krasnodar, Sochi and Gelendzhik airports were closed for at least four hours due to the air threat. Sirens also sounded in Novorossiysk and Slavyansk-on-Kuban.

Meanwhile, drones attacked Tatarstan. At around 3 a.m., explosions were heard on the outskirts of Kazan and in Nizhny Kamsk. Eyewitnesses reported bright flashes in the sky. After that, the lights went out in one of the districts of Kazan.

The airports in Kazan and Nizhny Kamask were temporarily closed to flights. There is currently no official information about the consequences of the strikes in Tatarstan.
