The Russians have begun using a new tactic, installing mock missiles on Shahed drones to deceive Ukrainian air defense forces.
This was announced by Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Serhiy Beskrestnov.
“The enemy has begun installing mock-ups of R60 missiles on Shahedy. The goal is to scare our aircraft and attract the attention of interceptors,” he said.
For example, drones are equipped with imitation R-60 missiles to create the impression of a more dangerous target.
“Army aviation knows how to react to such things. But we have many interceptor units in different branches of the armed forces and departments, and, of course, everyone will try to destroy such an “important” target,” Beskrestnov noted.
At the same time, the advisor to the Minister of Defense added that it is now important to develop methods that will distinguish drones with fake missiles from real threats.
Recall that in Ukraine, the use of Russian drones of the “Shahed” type for dropping mines has been recorded. One drone can drop up to 8 mines at a time, which creates an additional threat to the population.
As reported, the Russian army has begun using Shahed kamikaze drones as carriers for FPV drones .
