Russian occupation forces need reinforcements to fight for the cities of Pokrovsk and Myrnograd in Donetsk region.
This was stated in a comment to RBC-Ukraine by Serhiy Lefter, an officer of the communications department of the 7th corps of the State Security Service.
In particular, the Russian army is already attracting resources. Thus, to reinforce existing forces, the Russian command redeployed the 76th Pskov Airborne Assault Division, which was in the Kyiv region in 2022, to Pokrovsk.
“The Russians will involve them because, in principle, no matter what you say, they are being worn out. And if it were easy for them to capture Pokrovsk, I think they would have done it by now,” the military man explained.
Currently, the occupiers are mired in urban battles and cannot advance – they lack resources, Serhiy Lefter emphasized.
“This is their operational reserve and they want to use it,” he added.
As a reminder, the General Staff reported that units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold difficult sections of the front – Pokrovsk, Vovchansk, Kupyansk, and Russian statements about the “capture” of these cities do not correspond to reality.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the main tasks of the Ukrainian military in Pokrovsk are to gradually take control of certain areas , support and protect existing logistical routes.
By the way, the situation in Pokrovsk, Donetsk Oblast, remains difficult. Russian troops are trying to create conditions there for a complete encirclement of the city .
As is known, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are conducting search and assault operations and eliminating Russian occupiers in the urban development of Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.
It is worth noting that the Russian occupation forces, having failed to capture Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, intensified propaganda .
