Iran’s Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Alireza Rahimi, has called on young people to join a “human chain” around power plants across the country, in response to US President Donald Trump’s threat to strike Iran’s infrastructure if the country does not open the Strait of Hormuz.

This is reported by CNN.

“I invite all representatives of youth, culture and art, athletes and champions to join the nationwide campaign “Iranian Youth Living Chain for a Bright Future,” Rahimi wrote on social media.

According to him, the action will take place on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. local time near all power plants in Iran.

“Regardless of religion and political views, Iranians will stand shoulder to shoulder to declare: attacks on public infrastructure are a war crime,” the deputy minister emphasized.

As a reminder, Iran refused to unblock the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for a temporary cessation of hostilities , as provided for in a peace proposal from Pakistan.

As reported, US President Donald Trump said that the new president of Iran had proposed to Washington a ceasefire between the two countries.
