During detention: murder suspect shot four police officers in Cherkasy region

In Cherkasy region, four police officers died while detaining a murder suspect. Another law enforcement officer was injured.
This was announced by the head of the National Police, Ivan Vyhivskyi.
According to Vyhovsky, during the operation, the suspect opened aimed fire on law enforcement officers. Police special forces eliminated the attacker, but at the cost of the lives of four officers.
“Four police officers gave their lives so that the attacker could never again encroach on the lives of peaceful people. This is a terrible price paid by those who remained in the ranks until the last,” Vyhivskyi wrote.

Serhiy Safronov – police major, commander of platoon No. 1 (rapid response) of the special forces police company of the Main Police Department in Cherkasy region, participant in hostilities.
Oleksandr Florinskyi – police major, deputy commander of a special police company of the Main Police Department in Cherkasy region, participant in hostilities.
Denys Polovinka is a senior police lieutenant, inspector of platoon No. 1 (rapid response) of the special forces police company.
Volodymyr Boyko – police major, community police officer of the community interaction sector of the prevention department of the Cherkasy district administration, participant in hostilities.
Another police officer, Senior Lieutenant Oleksandr Shpak, was injured. He is wished a speedy recovery.
The National Police emphasizes that the deceased officers showed maximum courage and self-sacrifice, protecting the lives of civilians.
