American leader Donald Trump and Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin discussed all 20 points of the peace plan during a telephone conversation.
This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, RBC-Ukraine reports .
He said that Trump confirmed that he had discussed with Putin proposals based on the plan that the parties had previously agreed upon.
“I thanked him for that, because it is important that we are all in the same context and that this particular document is discussed, and not some other one,” Zelenskyy noted.
According to him, the American president also stated the Kremlin’s readiness, however, the Ukrainian side is cautious about this.
“For us, this is not the first time that Putin says one thing but does another. It is important for us that words match actions,” the Ukrainian leader noted.
He stressed that he would not publicly disclose the details of the conversation at this time, emphasizing that the priority is the implementation of agreements, not Russian statements.
Earlier in the day, US President Donald Trump spoke by phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin before meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Talks between the US and Ukrainian leaders are set to begin in about an hour.
It is worth adding that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, on the eve of his meeting with US President Donald Trump, stated that important decisions could be made by the end of the year . According to him, this depends on the position of Ukraine’s international partners and pressure on Russia.
Earlier, Zelenskyy proposed to Trump to provide Ukraine with security guarantees for a period of 30–50 years . According to him, the parties have now agreed on guarantees for 15 years with the possibility of extension.
