During the day on October 7, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian energy facilities in various regions more than 26 times.
This was reported by the Ministry of Energy.
According to the head of the department, Svitlana Hrynchuk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Odesa, and Poltava regions are under the enemy’s daily sights.
“Among our needs, first and foremost, is defense – we need more air defense and electronic warfare systems to protect critical infrastructure. The development of passive physical defense, which has already demonstrated its effectiveness, is also a priority,” the minister emphasized.
At the same time, she added that increasing the production of energy equipment is critically important. In particular, the official called on international partners to help with additional equipment.
“We have a list of urgent needs, which we are transferring to the Group of Seven for further consideration with each G7 country in a more substantive manner. I am grateful to our partners for their expressed willingness to work on quick solutions that Ukraine needs,” Hrynchuk noted.
As a reminder, on October 6, the Russian army struck energy system facilities in the Donetsk region , as a result of which some settlements were left without electricity.
By the way, within two days, the Russian occupiers destroyed two transformer substations that provided Kharkiv with electricity.
Earlier, as a result of Russian shelling , Konotop in Sumy Oblast was left without electricity and water supply .
