Each ministry will determine who is responsible for veterans’ policy: what is changing

From now on, each ministry and central executive body will appoint a representative who will be responsible for implementing the state veterans policy.
This was announced by the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Vitaliy Kim.
The government has made a corresponding decision. This concerns a deputy minister or deputy head of the department, who will be personally responsible for this area.
According to the Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Vitaliy Kim, an effective veterans policy requires the participation of all ministries and departments. It covers employment, education, health and rehabilitation, social protection, accessibility, and community work.
“Therefore, there should be a specific person in each department with whom we can promptly resolve issues and move forward,” Kim noted.
The government has also updated the composition of the Coordination Headquarters for the Implementation of the State Veterans Policy. Its work and interaction between departments will be coordinated by two co-chairs: the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine – Minister of Energy and the Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
In addition, the representation of ministries and the Armed Forces of Ukraine within the Headquarters was updated.
“Our task is to synchronize the work of all departments around the priorities of veteran policy, determined by the President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Ukraine, so that all these decisions ultimately yield concrete results for veterans and their families,” Kim emphasized.
It was previously reported that the government is updating digital services for veterans to make receiving services faster and more convenient.
