In 2026, Christians of different denominations will again celebrate Easter on different dates due to differences in calendars.

Catholics and most Protestants who use the Gregorian calendar will celebrate Easter on April 5.

Orthodox Christians determine the date of the holiday according to the Julian calendar, so their Easter will fall on April 12 — a week later.

Despite the different dates, the principle of calculation is the same: the holiday is celebrated on the first Sunday after the full moon after the vernal equinox.

Jews do not celebrate Easter, but during this period they celebrate Pesach, one of the main holidays, which commemorates the exodus of the Jews from Egypt. The dates of Pesach also change every year, as they are determined by the lunar calendar.

Muslims also do not celebrate Easter, which is a Christian holiday. Islam has its own religious dates, including Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.
