“Effective immediately”: Trump announces agreement between Ukraine and Russia on energy truce

US President Donald Trump has declared an energy truce in the war between Ukraine and Russia, saying both sides have agreed to stop attacks on energy facilities.
He wrote about this in Truth Social .
Trump announced the start of an energy truce, which he said takes effect immediately.
“The energy ceasefire in the war between Russia and Ukraine is effective immediately. Both sides have agreed. Do not violate it!” the US president wrote.
In his post, Trump did not specify how long the agreement would be in effect and which facilities the ceasefire would cover.
It was previously reported that Russia is demanding that the United States lift sanctions as part of talks on a possible energy truce with Ukraine . Moscow is also trying to link this initiative to a ceasefire in the Black Sea.
